Amar Jyoti’s U.S. Tour : “Colors of Ability”, will showcase the exceptional talents of special needs children from India. The troupe will give 2 unique dance & martial arts performances, Choreographed by the internationally acclaimed Guru Sallauddin Pasha in NYC & Long Island. The program is being dedicated to the Sixtieth Anniversary of the United Nations and the organization’s efforts in promoting the welfare and happiness of children everywhere.

COLORS of Ability : Glimpses from the Epics
In honor of the United Nations Sixtieth Anniversary
Amar Jyoti’s U.S. Tour : “Colors of Ability”, showcases the exceptional talents of special needs children from India. Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust hopes to create awareness about the abilities of the disabled through two cultural performances of Indian dance and traditional martial arts in NYC and Long Island
The Indian troupe will present soul stirring performances such as “Ramayana and Martial Arts on Wheels”, “Krishna- the Blue God and DurgaStuti”. These events highlight the artistic talents of these special kids through a series of ground breaking sequences choreographed by the internationally renowned Guru Sallauddin Pasha, Director of Abilities Unlimited Theatre.
The program is being dedicated to the Sixtieth Anniversary of the United Nations and the organization’s efforts in promoting the welfare and happiness of children everywhere.
After a triumphant tour of London and Leicester, the children will present performances in USA and Canada to promote cross-cultural exchange of ideas and talents and display the tremendous potential these children have when given a holistic learning environment and proper exposure.
The World Bank in Washington DC, The Indian American Foundation in Seattle, The Asian Cultural Association in Florida, Path to Success in London and Leicester, Sringeri Bharati Vidya Foundation in Toronto are some of the institutions who have invited the troupe.
Amar Jyoti is a non-profit voluntary organization based in Delhi, India. It is a trail blazer in promoting inclusive education, creating a barrier free environment, building capacity of persons with disabilities and introducing integrated sports & cultural activities. It has been successfully rendering rehabilitative services to persons with disabilities through integrated education, medical care, vocational training, child guidance and self employment since 1981. It has organized 5 National Integrated Sports Meets. As a nodal agency of the National Abilympic Association of India, Amar Jyoti coordinated the Regionals (2001), Nationals (2002) and the 6th International Abilympics held in New Delhi in 2003.
Amar Jyoti is an associate member of Rehabilitation International and has received 2 National Awards (among many others) conferred by the President of India for outstanding services to persons with disabilities and for creating a barrier-free environment. Dr. Uma Tuli is the dynamic and selfless founder of Amar Jyoti.

Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust: A Message from the Founder, Dr. Uma Tuli
Dr. Tuli, the troupe leader is the founder and Managing Secretary of Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust. In addition to teaching for 30 years in the University of Delhi and Gwalior, Dr. Tuli has contributed immensely in changing lives of several persons with disability through her innovative and path breaking initiatives in the field of rehabilitation. As former Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disability, Govt. of India, she implemented the Disability Act in letter and spirits. This multi faceted personality has the vision of putting person with disabiltiy on the same platform as the non-disabled. Hence, the present project of creating awareness through the performing group has been taken up.
